in conversation with Lucía Ixchiu — indigenous climate defender and award-winning filmmaker from Guatemala.

This April, join us in Bristol for an evening in conversation with Lucía Ixchiu — a Maya K’iche woman, indigenous climate defender, migrant, award-winning filmmaker and Amos Climate Fellowship member, now living in exile in Mexico.

Lucía will share her story as an activist and storyteller, and we’ll screen her short film Crossing Paths— a documentary about her exile from Guatemala that won Best Documentary Short at Cannes in 2025. She’ll also talk about A Day On Earth, a major new collaborative film documented entirely by indigenous, Afro-descendent and local community storytellers worldwide on Earth Day 2025.

Lucía will be in conversation with Alexia Lizarraga, Climate Fellowship Manager at Amos Trust, and Katie Hagley, Head of Community Engagement — exploring the vital role indigenous women play in climate action, the risks they face, and how you can support them.

All donations on the night will go to our Earth Raise Appeal — where every gift will be doubled between the 22nd and 29th of April.
