We are extremely proud to announce that Pixel, our Penzance workspace, has been awarded Workplace of the Year 2026 for the South of England and South Wales Region by the British Council for Offices.  It is the first time a building in Cornwall has won the award.

In addition to the striking design and excellent sustainability credentials, the judges made particular mention of the strong community spirit, creativity and economic regeneration impact of the building.

We owe a huge thank you to all of the talented, wonderful members that make up our ‘community of creators’ and of course our fantastic Cornwall team – Maisie, Carrie, Jasmine, Polly and Harry.

Pixel was commissioned by Cornwall Council as a workspace for the creative industries.  It was an extremely ambitious and visionary project that wasn’t without its challenges and controversy.  The original contractor went bust in the middle of the project and the building design is unconventional and bold.

But, we opened in January 2025 and the building has been a huge success, reflecting the particularly vibrant creative cluster in Penzance.  It is now home to over 150 people working across all creative disciplines from painters to graphic designers, ceramicists to architects.

Pixel, will now go forward to the national final in London in October this year, against three other regional winners.
